Monitoring Vice President Dick
Cheney's Arteries 24 Hours A Day

Recent events have shown that, as a matter of national security, the Vice President's arteries need constant monitoring. To accomplish this, Dumbentia Medical Center (DMC) was recently commissioned to install the first of it's revolutionary CardioCams  in our nation's second-in-command. The CardioCam transmits a live image from within a problem artery, which is monitored by the DMC medical staff. As a public service, DMC is making this transmission available  over the Internet.
What is the CardioCam
and how does it work?

To put it simply, the CardioCam is a live webcam with a view from the inside of a patient's artery. The CardioCam uses a technique similar to Angioplasty. A tiny webcam is installed at the tip of a very thin computer cable. The cable is inserted into an artery in the leg, and wound through the circulatory system. A position near a potential blockage area is chosen and the camera is anchored to the artery wall. A small, but powerful digital transmitter is embedded in the patient's kneecap, allowing constant monitoring of the images from the CardioCam. The images refresh approximately every four seconds.
